“Leaving Paris, I asked an elderly man outside a café for a portrait. He tried to put his pipe away, but I insisted he keep smoking and ignore me. Despite my usual nerves, I took the shot, said a quick Merci, and hurried off. After sharing the scan with @bigshotcoffee.paris, I learned he was the father of one of the owners. Knowing the photo meant as much to them as it did to me turned a simple frame into a beautiful story.”
